Dhoom 3 Is Now The Fastest 100 Cr Club Entrant | Beats Chennai Express’ Record

Monday, 23 December 2013 - 0 Comments

Dhoom 3 has done it. After being hyped to the sky, especially in last couple of months, a core expectation from the film was to score heavily. This is what actually happened when the film started his journey with a record breaking start. With over 33 crore coming in on the first day, and that too with just the Hindi version, the film broke the record created by Chennai Express just a few months back.

The difference though lied in the fact that while the Shah Rukh starrer had managed that on Eid holiday, Aamir Khan enjoyed this feat on a non-holiday.

Such huge was the benchmark set by the film on the very first day that there had to be some fall in collections on Saturday. However, the film saw a surge on Sunday which saw huge moolah coming in. As a result, the film managed to come in the vicinity of the 100 crore mark, hence turning out to be a quick and huge money spinner all the way. The actuals are still being compiled and will be updated soon.
Dhoom 3 Is Now The Fastest 100 Cr Club Entrant | Beats Chennai Express’ Record

With this, Dhoom 3 has made a record of entering the coveted 100 crore club in just 3 Days, beating SRK starrer Chennai Express that entered the club after adding its paid previews collections!

There is some more fun awaited, what with a very huge Christmas holiday round the corner on Wednesday. That would ensure yet another major day in the upwards of 20 crore which would be immense indeed for this Aditya Chopra production. The way film is going, while 200 crore is given, the challenge would be to cross the 226 crore total of Chennai Express.

The film has received largely positive reviews for its fun quotient though a few critics have kept it in the average range due to various unbelievable episodes that fill in the film. However the fact remains that for a large section of audience, this Vijay Krishna Acharya directed film has worked and even for those it hasn’t, a theatrical visit has ensured good enough footfall to result in some high numbers already. With no major release for a fortnight, Dhoom 3 would continue to create Dhoom at the box office.

Dhoom 3 Remains Consistent On 1st Saturday (Day 2) At The Box Office

Sunday, 22 December 2013 - 0 Comments

Dhoom 3 on its opening day created a rage at the box office and with its second day collection pouring in, the film seems to have witnessed a negligible drop on its second day. Early estimates suggest that the film has earned in the range of 34 to 35 crores on its second day, which is excellent.

This YRF venture, starring an ensemble cast including Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Uday Chopra, now stands at a total domestic box office collections in the range of whooping 70 to 71 crores.

Dhoom 3 Remains Consistent On 1st Saturday (Day 2) At The Box Office

If the film manages to maintain the same range consistently even today, it will surpass Chennai Express‘ record of the fastest 100 crore entrant. Chennai Express entered the distinguished 100 crore mark in 3 days which included the film’s paid preview amount as well. But Dhoom 3 despite the absence of paid preview, is looking to beat the same in lesser time. However, it is yet for the film’s Sunday collections to confirm whether Dhoom 3 can attain the same or not.

Dhoom 3 Day 1: 36 crores | Beat Chennai Express and Krrish 3

Saturday, 21 December 2013 - 1 Comment

Dhoom 3 kicked off to a monumental start yesterday. Contrary to the belief that the film will remain only palatable to the multiplex audiences, it garnered wonderful response from the single screens too.

The film on its first day has managed to collect approximately 32 crores from its Hindi shows alone. Since the film released in Tamil and Telugu as well separately, the film earned another 4 crores from the vernacular releases. With that the film, as per early estimates, has on its opening day raked a stupendous sum of 36 crores at the domestic box office.

Dhoom 3 Day 1: 36 crores | Beat Chennai Express and Krrish 3

It is quite a commendable start as the film, being a non-holiday release, managed to beat Chennai Express‘ opening day record (which saw an Eid release). Chennai Express had so far held the record of highest opening day collections (33.10 crs) and with Dhoom 3‘s release, this film claimed its record.

Reports suggests that the film’s Telegu version is faring better than Tamil but in most mass based circuits, the film is determined to remain stellar with the chance of beating Chennai Express‘ record of fastest 100 crore.

Well, not just that, but as per early reports this Aamir Khan starrer has high  chances to create history by registering the highest box office collections ever on a single day, beating Krrish 3‘s record (35.91 crs).

Stay tuned as the actuals will be updated soon!

Review : Dhoom 3 | Bang On 4.5 on 5

Friday, 20 December 2013 - 0 Comments

The story starts with the history of Great Indian Circus in Chicago which is mortgaged at the Western Chicago Bank. Its owner Iqbal (Jackie Shroff) has found the magic trick of wooing the bankers but loses the bait unfortunately.

On an eventful night of the circus, Iqbal kills himself due to his inability to save his circus. Years later, Chicago bank is being robbed relentlessly and the thief leaves a Joker’s mask each time. Iqbal’s son Sahir(Aamir Khan) manages to start up their circus again co-incidentally. The Bombay Police is summoned and obvious links are found between Iqbal’s son Sahir’s involvement in the burglary.

Will Jai (Abhishek Bachchan) and Ali(Uday Chopra) win against Sahir who is determined to seek revenge and destroy the bank for life?

Dhoom 3 Review

It takes a while for the film’s plot to reveal completely. Luckily the writers pack in ample suspense to keep your interest latched to the film from the scene go. While Dhoom and Dhoom 2 both worked because of style and slickness, this one works for its grit. It essentially has all the fun and entertainment that comes as a package from the franchise but luckily this time the makers did not decide to give the story a miss. Aamir’s bikes and all the death defying stunts are extremely filmy to the core giving the audiences a taste of what essentially qualifies as Bollywood, but this time they infuse a highly emotional story.

The second half of the movie comes with a mindblowing twist and the suspense when watched makes audience more engaged.

It is best to reveal as little as possible about Aamir’s character. To say the least, Aamir Khan is sincere in whatever he does. He plays every shade of his role with smoothness, ease and perfection.
Katrina Kaif is beautiful in every frame. She is perfect with her acts and the dance. Sadly, her role isn’t written with more meat or emotion. Abhishek Bachchan is as good as Jai Dixit as he has always been. And no curt words for Uday Chopra. God bless him for all the comic relief he provides. Without him, Dhoom would be a brooding and distastefully somber.

Dhoom 3 was spectacular and majestic. Keeping a strong hold on the emotional prowess of its plot, the film sews in the slick action so awe strikingly. Don’t go in expecting an Aamir Khan film because it isn’t without flaws. But it gets right everything that is a must for commercial films, especially its ability to grasp on to the interest of audiences. Even cool thieves are vulnerable people and to be able to get that correct is what makes Dhoom 3 a winner. One bang up job! I am going with 4.5 stars for the only hitch that good films don’t necessarily need to stretch this long.

Dhoom 3 Story Plot Revealed

Thursday, 5 December 2013 - 0 Comments

The story of Dhoom 3 will kickstart with Sahir (played by Aamir Khan) assisting his father, played by Jackie Shroff in their circus. Sahir picks up the trade tricks from his father. However, the child is left with a traumatized childhood as he witnessed the death of his father (Jackie Shroff) who is murdered.

A young and impressionable Sahir decides to avenge the death of his father.
Dhoom 3 Story Plot Revealed

The film then takes a predictable leap: the young Sahir is now running his own circus along with the Gymnast Aaliya. But Sahir’s real motive is to rob the circus owners possibly because he presumes of their involvement in his father’s murder.

ACP Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan), along with Ali (Uday Chopra) are given the task of nabbing the robber who is so slick with his misdeeds that he is hard to catch. It doesn’t take Jai long to zero on the robber but there is no proof of his crimes. Jai sticks to his classic method of catching Sahir red handed and lays out a trap to grab Sahir when in action!

What remains reserved for the film is the climax whether he will be caught like John Abraham in Dhoom or he will begin life afresh like Hrithik Roshan in Dhoom 2 . The presence of Aamir assures that the ending will be unusual, pretty much what your expect from Mr perfectionist!

The teaser of Dhoom 3‘s song Malang is out. Deemed as Bollywood’s most expensive song till date, there is no doubt that the picturization of the song is beyond spectacular. With gymnasts putting up their best show, Katrina Kaif looks ravishing in her appearance. Aamir Khan flaunts his toned body to perfection. Though a 30 second teaser leaves you dissatisfied, craving for more, the stellar look of the song is perfect. In the music of Pritam, the song is sung by Siddharth Mahadevan and Shilpa Rao.

Katrina’s Dhoom Machale Was A Damp Show Compared To Ash’s Stellar Performance

Saturday, 16 November 2013 - 0 Comments

The Dhoom women have always been characterized as personification of hot in Bollywood. But as the latest video of Dhoom’s title track went viral, there is a unanimous echo of dampened spirits amongst all. It’s good nonetheless but ‘woh Dhoom wali baat nahi hai’! Katrina Kaif, who serves as the lead lady in the newest edition of the franchise Dhoom 3, is resplendent no doubt! However she doesn’t get in the unusual slickness that people have been pining hopes on.
The reason why Dhoom Machale went viral for the first time was because of its off beat stylish look and feel. Earlier Chubby Esha Deol shed all her baby fat and appeared in a role that was quite stark from her potential and the roles she had procured before that. No doubt Dhoom was her most memorable work. She looked shockingly hot, not merely a shadow of her mother’s beauty which worked well for the film. For its time, Dhoom Machale was a fun, peppy and energetic numbers. It wasn’t common to make songs with such techno base as it was assumed that it wouldn’t ring well with all. YRF risked working against the flow and the first Dhoom Machale was laudable song which till date is famous amongst all.

Katrina’s Dhoom Machale Was A Damp Show Compared To Ash’s Stellar Performance

Cut to Dhoom 2. The title song was a mishmash of b-boying and other fantastic street dances of America. Featuring Hrithik Roshan in the song surely raised the bar higher than expected. The man grooved his body to perfection. But the Dhoom girl Aishwarya Rai was equally stellar. Once again, the former Miss World has always been an example of remarkable poise and elegance. To work in a film like Dhoom 2 was quite unlikely her. She was scintillating and seductive like one would have never expected from her. Sizzling and charming, she made Crazy Kiya Re and Dhoom Machale rock! Somehow meted out with a more potent look worked in her favor as her audiences couldn’t get the Dhoom 2 image of the actress out of their head. The fantastic chemistry of Hrithik and Aishwarya raised the bar of Dhoom songs to an unexpectedly higher heights, which is why Dhoom 3‘s Dhoom Machale doesn’t seem all that great to us.
Aishwarya’s elegance, class and stature was insurmountable always but the reason Dhoom 2 stands as an undefeated work of hers is because of the distinct transition she got in her look for the film. One wouldn’t have expected the actress to don a street smart look like that and be marvelous at it.
Katrina Kaif looks gorgeous in every frame of the song, but the energy of its music is quite low. It was a very dull sounding Dhoom song, and I speak for many who wrote to us saying the same. Katrina Kaif’s infallible beauty is bewitching but the look she dons isn’t any new for the actress. People have seen her do a Sheila Ki Jawani and Zara Zara Touch Me too. She maintains the hotness quotient for sure but fails to raise the bar like what we expect a Dhoom franchise to deliver. She is known as the elegant Indian Barbie Doll but the actress has been versatile enough to try her hand at altering the perception of people towards her in many films before. But, there is not an inkling of newness in Dhoom 3′s Dhoom Machale.
Music wise, energy wise, it’s somber. It doesn’t give me the required kick I was expecting. Years later, I still get thrilled watching Hrithik and Ash do their Dhoom Machale. I doubt this thrilled me at all to linger through the week, forget years! There is a lack of earnest effortlessness as the song comes off as supremely plastic and if I may dare to say- Thanda.

Like I said, Dhoom has always personified a new dimension of slickness quotient in Bollywood. But the first impression hasn’t been quite great with most. We sincerely hope that our first impression doesn’t become our last!

Dhoom 3 Trailer Analysis Feat Aamir Khan Katrina Kaif Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra

Thursday, 31 October 2013 - 0 Comments

The first full length trailer of Dhoom 3 can best be summed up in one word – breathtakingly phenomenal. Living up to the prodigious hype fabricated around it, the film’s trailer topples over both its previous editions to be marked as ace. The trailer shows a flair of moving beyond the regular chase, action and explosion to hint at something more edgy and gripping.

However, it again isn’t entirely faultless. In the first instance of watching the trailer, you’ll be reminded of Louis Leterreir’s recent film Now You See Me. It would again be erroneous to term the film’s premise as unoriginal merely on the basis of its first glance, but the resemblances between them is both uncanny and unmissable.

Trailer Analysis Dhoom 3

Dhoom:3 trailer at its run time of 2.46 minutes is slick along with a zestful doze of visual confetti added to it. The good bit for the audiences is that the action-drama has escalated the franchise’s level notches higher than what was expected of it. The energy is inexplicably high and fascinating. One cannot even doubt the marvel of fabulous action pieces that it will entail, however, the presence of Aamir Khan is enough for audiences to hope that this one won’t be just a young man’s wild wet dream but something way more content driven.

There were many disappointing bits in the trailer. Luckily Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra have been kept aside for good, Katrina Kaif could have been given a loftier introduction than somersaulting in air!

If you consider this a through and through Aamir trailer, it is near perfect. Packed with an emotional flashback moment, Mr. Perfectionist does the dazzling heists with an unbeatable neatness easily surpassing the previous Dhoom antagonists.

Dhoom:3 pitches a colossally ameliorating standards for Bollywood which is settling in for customary, run-in-the-mill clutter of films. Despite sniffing a lack of novelty, in its jumps from terrace scene to its bike crashing stunts, the trailer multiplied my expectations from the film manifolds. Its top notch action and embellishing stunts are so unabashedly satiating that the lack of originality can easily be missed! My last note would be – it was hard to take my eyes of the trailer, and I am expecting something unbeatably enigmatic from the film too.

Dialogues

Aamir Khan’s ‘Dhoom 3′ Avatar At Departure!

Monday, 28 October 2013 - 0 Comments

MUMBAI: Aamir Khan is busy travelling. Recently he took a secret trip to Australia, and now he’s departing for the US.

Aamir Khan was spotted at the airport recently in a brown jacket and jeans.

That’s not all, though. Aamir Khan was seen wearing the bowler hat he has made famous in the teaser trailer for ‘Dhoom 3‘.

We must add that the hat really suited Aamir Khan, who seemed pleased at being greeted by the shutterbugs as well.

But why was Aamir Khan going to the US? If you remember, part of ‘Dhoom 3′ is shot in Chicago. Could there be some promotions taking place there?

‘Dhoom 3′ stars Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra and Katrina Kaif alongside Aamir Khan and releases on 20 December, 2013, in time for the Christmas blast.
