Dhoom 3 kicked off to a monumental start yesterday. Contrary to the belief that the film will remain only palatable to the multiplex audiences, it garnered wonderful response from the single screens too.
The film on its first day has managed to collect approximately 32 crores from its Hindi shows alone. Since the film released in Tamil and Telugu as well separately, the film earned another 4 crores from the vernacular releases. With that the film, as per early estimates, has on its opening day raked a stupendous sum of 36 crores at the domestic box office.

It is quite a commendable start as the film, being a non-holiday release, managed to beat Chennai Express‘ opening day record (which saw an Eid release). Chennai Express had so far held the record of highest opening day collections (33.10 crs) and with Dhoom 3‘s release, this film claimed its record.
Reports suggests that the film’s Telegu version is faring better than Tamil but in most mass based circuits, the film is determined to remain stellar with the chance of beating Chennai Express‘ record of fastest 100 crore.
Well, not just that, but as per early reports this Aamir Khan starrer has high chances to create history by registering the highest box office collections ever on a single day, beating Krrish 3‘s record (35.91 crs).
Stay tuned as the actuals will be updated soon!

The story starts with the history of Great Indian Circus in Chicago which is mortgaged at the Western Chicago Bank. Its owner Iqbal (Jackie Shroff) has found the magic trick of wooing the bankers but loses the bait unfortunately.
On an eventful night of the circus, Iqbal kills himself due to his inability to save his circus. Years later, Chicago bank is being robbed relentlessly and the thief leaves a Joker’s mask each time. Iqbal’s son Sahir(Aamir Khan) manages to start up their circus again co-incidentally. The Bombay Police is summoned and obvious links are found between Iqbal’s son Sahir’s involvement in the burglary.
Will Jai (Abhishek Bachchan) and Ali(Uday Chopra) win against Sahir who is determined to seek revenge and destroy the bank for life?

It takes a while for the film’s plot to reveal completely. Luckily the
writers pack in ample suspense to keep your interest latched to the film
from the scene go. While Dhoom and Dhoom 2 both
worked because of style and slickness, this one works for its grit. It
essentially has all the fun and entertainment that comes as a package
from the franchise but luckily this time the makers did not decide to
give the story a miss. Aamir’s bikes and all the death defying stunts
are extremely filmy to the core giving the audiences a taste of what
essentially qualifies as Bollywood, but this time they infuse a highly
emotional story.
The second half of the movie comes with a mindblowing twist and the suspense when watched makes audience more engaged.
It is best to reveal as little as
possible about Aamir’s character. To say the least, Aamir Khan is
sincere in whatever he does. He plays every shade of his role with
smoothness, ease and perfection.
Katrina Kaif is beautiful in every frame. She is perfect with her
acts and the dance. Sadly, her role isn’t written with more meat or
emotion. Abhishek Bachchan is as good as Jai Dixit as he has always been. And no curt words for Uday Chopra. God bless him for all the comic relief he provides. Without him, Dhoom would be a brooding and distastefully somber.
Dhoom 3 was spectacular and majestic. Keeping a strong hold on
the emotional prowess of its plot, the film sews in the slick action so
awe strikingly. Don’t go in expecting an Aamir Khan film because it
isn’t without flaws. But it gets right everything that is a must for
commercial films, especially its ability to grasp on to the interest of
audiences. Even cool thieves are vulnerable people and to be able to get
that correct is what makes Dhoom 3 a winner. One bang up job! I
am going with 4.5 stars for the only hitch that good films don’t
necessarily need to stretch this long.

Sophia Hayat’s complaint against Armaan Kohli was definitely not taken
lightly by them. According to a leading daily, cops landed on the sets
of Bigg Boss 7 to investigate about Armaan’s behavior. Sophia
apparently has accused the man of severe aggression including hitting
her. Sophia might also file an F.I.R against Colors for not taking any
step against Armaan for physically abusing her.
Cops even attempted to take statements
from eye witnesses who were present when Armaan apparently hit Sophia.
For now, they have managed to procure the footage from Colors to delve
more into the allegation and whether the nature of crime was exactly
what Sophia’s statement claims.
With the season’s finale drawing closer,
if the crime is proven against him it might not only end his Bigg Boss
journey but have further grave impact.

Bigg Boss 7 house is seeing things turning
upside down, rivals becoming friends, friends becoming rivals, and much
more. Changing equations, changing relationships is a constant in the
controversial house.
This week’s nominations are the most important ones, as they decide the fate of the housemates. And directly pushes the Bigg Boss 7 housemates extremely closer to victory. If our source can be believed, then Sangram Singh has just pushed Tanisha Mukerji to the finale.
Here is how it all unfolded:
The nominations for eviction this week are: Ajaz Khan (lost identity), Armaan Kohli (Mr. Abusive), Kushal Tandon (lover “puppet”), VJ Andy (entertainer) and last but not the least, Gauahar Khan
(the original Miss Manipulative). Kushal voted Armaan and Tanisha,
Gauahar voted Armaan and Tanisha, Ajaz voted Armaan and Tanisha, Armaan
voted Ajaz and Kushal, Tanisha voted Ajaz and Kushal, Andy voted Ajaz
and Kushal out. And Kamya Punjabi who was evicted yesterday, using her
special power voted VJ Andy out.
However, Sangram was given a
special power as the captain of the house. He had to save one housemate,
and nominate the other. Whom do you think Sangram saved? VJ Andy? Nope!
Now, that’s where is the game-changer move! Sangram saved Tanisha and
nominated Gauahar instead.
This comes as a major blow to Gauahar Khan, who was very sure of sailing through the finals, and would escape nominations, but Bigg Boss 7
is all about expecting the unexpected, or even better: don’t expect!
Gauahar Khan, who has been part of such a reality show earlier exactly
knew how to manipulate each and every move, and using all her resources
outside she played a double game – one inside the house, and other
outside the house. She gave to Bigg Boss 7 all the necessary
drama, be it her love-story, or the act of quitting the show in the
middle and then returning, accepting a romantic proposal – she was clear
from the word go what she had to do to gain maximum eyeballs, and
footage.
Next weekend, December 22, 2013 will see one of them bid a final goodbye to the Bigg Boss 7
house, thus ending his/her game of winning the finale. Also, as
customary there would be another eviction either this week itself, or
next week when a housemate is given a choice to walk out of the house
voluntarily. The housemate would be offered money to do so. This season
the booty is five lac Rs only, according to our source.
Generally,
a contestant who is not sure of winning, even if he/she reaches the
Finale bites into this bait! Bhakhtiyar had accepted the offer given by
Bigg Boss in Season 3. The sum was ten lac Rs then. He opted out of the
show on Day 79. In Season 6 a similar offer was made to the contestant,
and the monies offered were twenty lac Rs, but no one took up the offer.

Bigg Boss 7 is inching towards it’s finale,
and during it’s last stages some unexpected results are visible. Some
heavy surprises, some very certain PR plugs, and more dirty drama is
unfolding outside of the controversial house.
Now, this is something which has not been a surprise – as Kamya Punjabi was one of the most dignified contestants on Bigg Boss 7, out of the recent lot. But, as we have witnessed in the past – Bigg Boss 7
is no house for dignified people, it’s a house where below the belt
remarks, dirty politics, and things which can’t be written here,
survive.
From the past three seasons, a female TV personality has been winning the reality show. Season 4 had Shweta Tiwari as winner, Season 5 saw Juhi Parmar winning, and Season 6 was taken away by Urvashi Dholakia. But, Bigg Boss 7 is different.
Kamya Punjabi has just been evicted from the Bigg Boss 7
house. If one takes a look at the entire journey of Kamya, one can say
that she maintained her fort very well. She had her own mood swings, she
had her fights, but she sort of left a message: don’t mess with women,
they too can do what men boost of all the time. She maybe wrong in many
situations, but in the end she held her space with respect and class,
compared to the drama queens – Gauahar Khan and Tanisha Mukerji.
Kamya was close to Pratyusha Banerjee, she supported her throughout her stay. The only time she had a very ugly spat was when Armaan Kohli called her a divorcee. Later, Armaan literally fell on her feet begging for forgiveness.
The ones who remain in Bigg Boss 7
house now are: Kushal Tandon and Gauahar Khan, Armaan Kohli and Tanisha
Mukerji, VJ Andy and Sangram Singh. The odd man left out of any pair is
Ajaz Khan, who swings from being with Kushal and Gauahar, and at times
tilts towards Sangram and Andy.

As expected, R… Rajkumar opened
well at the box office. In fact the footfalls as well as the
collections were pretty much as per the plan, what with around 50% opening resulting in around 9 crore coming on the first day. Now this is the highest opening that a Shahid Kapoor film has ever taken and second highest ever for Prabhu Dheva after Rowdy Rathore
Such collections were always on the cards, considering the songs (Gandi Baat, Saree Ke Fall Sa)
had done the trick while the promos were accepted too. Oh yes, there
were spoilers in the party though, what with majority of critics panning
the film with some of the worst reviews of the year reserved for it.
There were a handful of average and good reviews too but largely, there
wasn’t any chance given to the film. However, audience had a choice of
its own and this was reflected in some consistent numbers that the film
gained over the weekend.
As a result, around 29 crores came over the weekend for R… Rajkumar
which has given the film a good chance to fight it out during the
weekdays. Solo release as well as absence of any competition whatsoever
has helped the film’s prospects and since there is hardly any
competition in the coming week, R… Rajkumar should continue to find audience, especially in the single screens. This must indeed be good news for Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha who were hunting for a good earner this year.
Other release of the week, Club 60
got good reviews and sparse release, hence resulting in hardly any
collections coming its way. It would soon be hunting for audience in the
home video circuit.

The official first look image of the upcoming film The Villain is out! Featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra,
the pairing is invigoratingly refreshing. This is the first
time Sidharth will be seen playing a character which might prove to be a
career defining role for him in acting and action moves. Shraddha
Kapoor will be seen a role pretty unique from Aashiqui 2 that shot her to fame. Directed by Mohit Suri, the film is expected to release in June, 2014.

Kajol, along with Ajay Devgn, were in New Delhi to attend the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit. They were attending the event in the capacity of the summit speakers. The other speakers include names like Raj Sisodia, Jairam Ramesh, Beeban Kidron, Walter Robb, Condoleezza Rice, Arun Jaitley, Dr. Anjali Mukherjee, Smriti Irani, Khusboo Sundar, Imran Khan, Anoushka Shankar and others.
It was a forgone conclusion that the media would question Kajol about her sister Tanisha who is making headlines after headlines every single day, thanks to her antics in Bigg Boss 7.
Also, a lot has been written and spoken about the differences between Tanisha and Kajol and the disapproval of mother Tanuja. Kajol, being the gracious lady she is, put a final nail to all the speculations by extending her support to her kid sister Tanisha. Kajol at an event said that she completely supports her sister Tanisha and it is the format of the show to put inmates in unnatural situation and bring out the worst in them.
Tanisha is under constant media scanner for being too close and often intimate with housemate Armaan Kohli. She was caught in an objectionable situation with Armaan not once but several times.
Speaking about the reality show, Kajol said, “I do watch Bigg Boss regularly and I feel the show’s format is such that it brings out the worst in the person. I try and catch every single episode of the show and will support Tanisha because she is my sister. I don’t think I have any advise for her because that place is such. The show puts you in an unnatural situation and compels to get the worst reaction out of you.”
Kajol and Ajay Devgn chatted at length about their love story and revealed the reason behind their successful marriage. Kajol said that their marriage worked because they are completely opposite to each other. The couple entered into matrimony on February 24, 1999.
“We dated for almost four years before getting married and we are best friends. I think our relation has worked only because I speak a lot and he quietly listens. I can go on for hours and he can stay mum for hours, so the secret to our happy married life is that Ajay doesn’t say much,” said a very happy and content Kajol.
Adding to this, Ajay joked, “The secret of our successful marriage is simple, I sometimes listen and sometimes I just pretend to listen.”
